TDU Global 2020 Frequently Asked Questions

Registration

How do I register?
Visit the registration page and click to login to the conference site.  Please note, this login is not the same as what you use to login to your TDS site.  In order to fully complete your registration, payment must be made and the registration form must be submitted.

Can I register for someone other than myself?
Yes.  You will be able to indicate that the registration is for someone other than yourself on the registration form.

Can I register more than one person at a time?
No.  Each person must be individually registered.

What are the costs?
Pricing is listed on the registration page.

Do you offer group discounts?
No. There are no group discounts available.

I will be presenting a session at the conference. Will I receive a reduced price for registration?
No. There will not be a reduced price for presenting at TDU Global 2020.

I have completed my registration and want to make a change.  What do I need to do?
Please email conference@terradotta.com if changes need to be made.

I registered for the TDU Global conference and now I would like to register for a pre-conference workshop as well.  How do I add a pre-conference workshop and make the payment?

  • If you’d like to pay by credit card, log into https://conference.terradotta.com and make the payment by selecting the "Pay by Credit Card: Pre-Conference Workshop Only" payment option under "Credit Card Payments".  Then please email conference@terradotta.com to let us know which workshop you wish to attend.   
  • If you need to pay by check, please email us at conference@terradotta.com, let us know which workshop you wish to attend, and an invoice will be sent.


What is the cancellation policy?
Requests for refunds must be made in writing to conference@terradotta.com. Upon written request, refunds for withdrawal from the full conference will be made based on this schedule:

  • Requests made on or before February 28, 2020: Fees will be refunded minus a $25.00 service fee. You also have the option to roll-over your full registration cost to our 2021 conference or transfer your registration to another attendee for the 2020 conference.
  • Requests made between March 1, 2020 and April 14, 2020: Fees will be refunded minus a $100.00 service fee. You also have the option to transfer your full registration cost towards another attendee for our 2020 conferece.
  • No refunds will be issued on or after April 20, 2019.


How do I transfer my registration to a colleague?
You may transfer your registration to another person within your institution.  Substitution requests will be processed free of charge.  Please contact us at conference@terradotta.com with the following information:

  • Current registrant name
  • New registrant name
  • New registrant title
  • New registrant email
  • New registrant phone
Please be sure to also contact the hotel directly to make updates to any accommodation reservations.

How do I submit a session proposal?
Review the policies and guidelines on the proposals page.  Click the 'Propose a Session' button on this page to access the proposal form. 

What is the deadline for submitting a proposal?
October 15, 2019.  Refer to the proposals page for more information.

Accommodations

Is there a discounted hotel rate?
Yes.  Refer to the accommodations page for more information and book your hotel online.

How do I book a hotel for the TDU Global conference?
Online and phone reservations are available.  Refer to the accommodations page for more information.

How do I make a change to an existing hotel reservation?
If you need to make a change, please do so directly with the hotel at (623) 937-3700.

What is the hotel cancellation policy?
To cancel your hotel accommodations, you must contact the hotel directly. Your deposit will be refunded if notice is received by 5pm five days prior to the day of arrival. You must receive a cancellation number at that time. Refer to the accommodations page for more information.

Travel

Which airport should I fly into?
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX).  For airport information, please see https://www.skyharbor.com/.  Refer to the accommodations page for more information.

How far is the hotel from the airport and what transportation is available?
PHX is approximately 25 miles (30-35 minute drive) from the Renaissance Phoenix Glendale Hotel. Suggested methods of transportation are taxi cabs ($65), Uber ($34), or Lyft ($34). Refer to the accommodations page for more information.

What is the weather like in Glendale in April?
The average daily temperature is 97 degrees fahrenheit (30 degrees celsius) and the average low is 60 degrees fahrenheit (15 degrees celsius). 

At the Event

What are the registration hours and location?
The conference schedule is in planning.  Please check back soon for further updates.

Will laptops be provided?
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptops. Terra Dotta does not have computers to provide to attendees for workshops or sessions.  

What is the recommended attire for the conference?
Business casual.  Don't forget to bring your school spirit clothing for the karaoke dinner.  Everyone is encouraged to wear their school colors for the event.

What meals will be provided?
Opening reception drinks and light hors d'oeuvres, breakfast & lunch (21st-22nd), karaoke dinner event, & all coffee breaks.

How do I request a special dietary need?
When completing the TDU Global registration form, please make note of any dietary restriction(s).  When being served at the event, let a server know that you have placed a request.  If you do not note a dietary restriction on the registration form, the hotel will not have prior notice and may not be able to accommodate your needs.

May I bring a guest to the karaoke event?
Yes, please indicate that a guest will attend on the TDU Global registration form.  Guest tickets to karaoke are $65.  Acceptable payment forms are credit card ahead of time or cash/check at the event.

Is there a mobile app for the TDU Global conference?
A mobile-ready schedule website will be accessible prior to the event and on-site.  The mobile-ready site launch will be announced by email and information about accessing the site will be provided.  Please check back for further updates.
